MissionSHEF is an organization dedicated to encouraging and enabling excellence in education in the schools of the Steilacoom Historical School District.SHEF - Who we are...We are a non-profit corporation in the State of Washington dedicated to the furtherance of education within our community. We are essentially focused on students and schools of the small communities of Steilacoom and DuPont, located in Pierce County, Washington, south of the major cities of Tacoma and Seattle. The Foundation is an IRS Section 501(c)(3) organization. For more information on the organization, see the By-Laws under the Administrative section of this web site. The purpose and primary objective of the foundation is to create and found a charitable, educational, not-for-profit foundation for the sole benefit of the Steilacoom Historical School District #1; to assist, strengthen, and further in every proper and useful way the purposes, work, and services of the District, and to develop, enhance and utilize all available ties of interest, concern, and affections for scholarship and student aid purposes. What we do ...SHEF provides scholarships for students graduating through Steilacoom High School SHEF also provides grants to Steilacoom Schools to enhance teaching and learning in the district. How to join or support SHEFYou can join SHEF and be placed on our mailing list by submitting the membership form which can be submitted by mail or on-line. SHEF is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. You can donate by sending your tax deductible contributions to SHEF at the address below. Contact Information - MeetingsVisitors or those interested in joining or supporting the Foundation can attend board meetings. Regular meetings are held every third Monday at Steilacoom High School at 6:30 PM. The High School is located at 54 Sentinel Drive (just north of Far West off Steilacoom Blvd.) in Steilacoom.
