The Chloe Clark Statue is the centerpiece of the School Teacher Memorial located in DuPont, Washington, on the grounds of the namesake Chloe Clark Elementary School. This larger than life, bronze statue was sculpted by Dr. John Patrick Jewell of the Windy Bluff Studio in Vaughn, Washington.
The statue is displayed on a concrete pedestal and framed by bronze logs symbolizing the log cabins at the historical missionary school site. Attached to the sides of the concrete pedestal are five large bronze plaques to include the dedication and a biography of Chloe Clark. Funds were raised by the Chloe Clark Memorial Committee of the Steilacoom Historical Education Foundation. Donating the capabilities of the company, John Korsmo Construction has the lead in constructing the concrete pedestal supported by donated labor and materials from Cal Portland of DuPont and Danard Electric, Incorporated.
The Dedication was hosted by the Steilacoom Historical School District No. 1 on July 10, 2010. The date was the 170th anniversary of the arrival of Chloe Clark at the first Fort Nisqually located in today's DuPont.
